New single: Open The Window

Open the Window

Sometimes you look around at the world and think:

Are you 🤬 kidding me?
Everybody is talking. Governments are talking. Companies are talking. News channels are talking. Social media always abuzz. 🫣 But somehow, nobody seems to be listening.

That’s where “Open the Window” came from.

It’s about the things people would rather keep behind closed doors. The stories that get buried. The questions nobody wants asked. The people who are told to sit down, be quiet, and move along.

Yeah. No.

Open the window.

Pull up the blinds.

Turn on the lights.

Because once people start looking—and talking to each other—it gets a whole lot harder to pretend nothing is wrong.

The song is heavy because the subject is heavy. But it isn’t hopeless. That’s what the happy piano is for!  🎹

At its heart, “Open the Window” is about ordinary people realizing that their voices matter.

One person speaks:

Someone else realizes they aren’t alone.

Then another joins.

And another!

Until the thing somebody desperately wanted kept quiet…🤫 isn’t quiet anymore. 🫢

And because this is ExistentialRiffs, naturally we delivered this message with a completely unreasonable amount of bass.

We paid for the 808s! We’re using the 808s!

Turn it up. Open the windows.

Truth don’t stay quiet. 🪟🔥

Love, Exi

New Single: Beautiful Anyway

Beautiful Anyway - Out Now

There's a moment in the bridge that kind of says it all: keys by the doorway / your coat on the chair / proof that someone / enjoys being here.

No grand declaration. No cinematic kiss in the rain. Just a coat on a chair. And somehow, that's everything.

The Song

Beautiful Anyway isn't a love song about falling - it's one about landing. That specific, quietly radical feeling of being with someone who doesn't demand your whole story before they sit down beside you. Someone who leaves the window open and lets the morning do its thing.

This one is for anyone who learned to brace for leaving or being left; who kept certain doors half-closed because they'd learned what happened when they swung wide open. It's not a song that promises a fix - it offers something more honest: the way the blue comes after gray. Not that the gray disappears, but colour returns after a time.

Love That Doesn't Have to Shout

The final chorus lands somewhere we kept coming back to while writing this: love doesn't have to shout to prove that it belongs.

That felt like the whole song in ten words. Beautiful Anyway is about the smaller, steadier thing - the kind that proves itself by staying, by being warm and close, by not making your half-closed doors into a negotiation.

We hope it finds you at the right moment.
